advice to young artists in a postmodern era, chapter 5

artists and artist's image

this chapter focuses on image. dunning advises you to not only to look professional when presenting your art, but to also know what you're talking about. i understand the idea of  "image" and how important it is to people, however, i do not like the idea of changing your wardrobe to sell your work. an artist should be free to be an artist and themselves. clothes are a form of expression, and it should be about the art, not the artist's wardrobe.  i do believe that it is very important for an artist to conduct themselves in respectful and professional manner, but i also they believe they can achieve this without changing their appearance.
